Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love thanksgiving mostly because all of the good food. My favorite foods at thanksgiving are mashed potatoes, my grandma’s deviled eggs, and my mom’s green bean casserole. Every year, I ether have thanksgiving at my house or one of my grandma’s houses. A tradition in my family is that we also watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving at my house. Thanksgiving is an awesome holiday and I’m glad we have it!!!

For my first encore class this year I had Computers B with Mr. Moore (a.k.a technology). It is a class that teaches you about websites, computer programs, how to create websites, and what to do on those websites. In this class we have had a wiki, a weebly, a blogster, and a blog. A wiki is a page that anyone can upload and type whatever they want on your page and you can do that to anyone else’s. A weebly is basically a website that you can upload images onto and other things. A blogster is just like a blog, only you have more animated images and things like that. Finally, a blog is a website you create that you can write posts on and upload images and other things onto. In this trimester, I have learned what all these things are and what you can do on them. This class has been a lot of fun and I wish we could have it for the rest of the year because Mr. Moore is a cool teacher and his class is very fun. I will also miss all of my friends from his class. On tuesday november 17th, three students from a college in Virginia were out collecting frogs for a biology class. A hunter mistook them for deer and one girl was shot and killed. Another student was shot in the hand. The third student wasn’t hurt. To read this article, click here. What I don’t see is, how can you mistake three students for deer? I mean, that is terrible that the girl is dead because some guy made a mistake.
I wish that the state didn’t have to make budget cuts and change things in the school district. I don’t think that it is a good thing, although I know they have to do it. To learn more about these budget cuts, click here.
I glad we don’t have to wear uniforms at our school. I do not think wearing uniforms would create a more positive learning environment because does what we wear really effect how we learn? I don’t think so. Anyway, I do not like the idea of wearing uniforms. My cousins have to wear them at the school they go to, and they don’t like them. I also think it would be a little weird if the student and the teacher were wearing the same thing.
I chose an picture of books because I love to read. I read all the time and I love reading. I don’t have a favorite author or book because I love so many. Reading is one of my hobbies. I read about two or three books at a time. When I was in elementary school, I used to read four or five books at a time. But, now I usually just read two or three at a time. Anyway, my favorite genre of books is realistic fiction. I also like mystery books. When I’m really bored, I will go online to Barnes and noble.com and read about books in their store. I have so many books I want to read, I have a list of books that is two or three pages long.

As a middle schooler, I have enjoyed my experiences in my three years of middle school. It is very different from elementary school, but once you get used to it is very easy and fun. You get a lot more homework, but that isn’t so bad. Some challenges I have faced in middle school are getting used to the bigger school, the lockers, and the six hour days. In elementary school, our school was small and you knew where all the rooms were. In middle school, you have a lot of more classrooms and they are all over the school. You also have to get used to the lockers. The first week of sixth grade was pretty hard trying to open them because at my elementary school, we didn’t have them. Plus, the six hour days were hard getting used to because you didn’t have a ll of your classes broken up like that. But, I eventually got used to al of these things. When I entered middle school, I made a LOT of new friends and met a lot of new people. It was very fun meeting new people and getting to know them. I will miss middle school when it comes to a end…….

If I were president for a day, I would paint the white house pink. I would make the white house greener. I would recycle all bottles, plastic bags, paper, etc. I would also try ti cut down on energy being used at the white house. I would tell other families to make their households greener too. Considering the situation in Irac, I would try to meet with the president of Irac and try to work out some way to resolve the prblem and stop the war. With the economy, I don’t really know how to fix it, so I don’t know what I would do in that situation. I think being president for a day would be VERY VERY hard.
When I grow up, I want to be a writer. I want to write books for kids to read. I want to be a writer because I love writing things and I love to read books. I think it would be very cool to write stories and make the words jump off the pages for the reader. I want to create books that put pictures in the readers mind as they read the words on the page. I think it would be especially cool write a book and have them make a movie of it. If I didn’t get to be a writer, then I would want to be a teacher. I think it would be cool to teach kids Language Arts because that is my favorite subject. I want to give kids the gift of knowledge or reading. I think that would be so cool.
My name is MacKenzie. I am 14 years old. I love to read, write, hang out with my family and friends, watch movies, listen to music, and play volleyball. I read lots of books all the time and I love to write and create stories. When I grow up, I want to be a writer and create books for kids to read. I also love to listen to music and watch movies. I don’t have a favorite movie- I’ve seen too many good ones!!!! I listen to the radio all the time- my dad says I listen to it way too often!!!! Anyway, I also like to have fun with my friends and hang out with my family. I love to spend time with them and listen to some of the subjects they talk about. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love getting presents and giving them. It’s my favorite thing to do at Christmas time.
